Financial Aid

At Centre, we’re committed to providing you with every financial resource available to help fund your education.

Financial aid — such as scholarships, grants, and loans — can help you and your family comfortably meet the total cost of attending college. And our financial aid team is here to help you create a plan that works best for you.

We strive to make college affordable. In addition to participating in federal and state aid programs, Centre will pledge more than $47 million in institutional aid to support scholarships and grants this year alone. The Centre Promise increases that pledge beginning with the incoming students for the fall of 2025.

Understanding Federal Student Aid

Do you have questions regarding your FAFSA form or how to access financial aid resources? The official Federal Student Aid site has resources to help you apply for the FAFSA, renew your FAFSA, and so much more.

Financial Aid FAQs

No. You can apply for financial aid any time after December 1. To actually receive funds, however, you must be admitted and enrolled at the university.

Submit a FAFSA. To indicate interest in student employment, student loans, and parent loans, you should check the appropriate boxes. Checking these boxes does not commit you to accepting these types of aid. You will have the opportunity to accept or decline each part of your aid package later. Leaving these boxes unchecked will not increase the amount of grants you receive.

Yes. If you are receiving any kind of financial aid beyond university or government sources, you must report the scholarship to the financial aid office.

Your financial aid package may need to be adjusted to compensate for the outside funding to not exceed your cost of attendance. Typically, scholarships of $1,000 or less do not require adjustments to the Centre grant.

Yes. If your financial circumstances are such that you would not be able to pay your entire student account balance at the start of each semester, we encourage you to complete the FAFSA and the CSS Profile form. These applications determine your eligibility for a wide range of aid options, up to and including unsubsidized Stafford and PLUS loans, both of which are available regardless of need.
